Civilized Cavemen
The United Nation of prehistory would have given rights to the people as does the United Nations of today. They would take into account the many difficulties of that each tribe had to survive. Land is important for anyone to survive. They need land to start a family and to provide a source of food. Protection is needed against enemies as well as tyrannies. The protection is needed so the population will not die. Any human being needs protection. Customs are important to any group. They are the definition of that group. Prehistoric people needed the right to land, protection and customs.
Prehistoric people should have had the right of land. The right of land would have left a great impact as far as the Maori and the Moriori. The Moriori would not have been attacked for their land, leaving ability to grow and expand. The right to land was as important in the past as it is today. A person uses his land to build a house, grow food, and potentially earn a profit. The prehistoric peoples could have done the same thing. They had to eat, and it was best if the food was able to be cultivated on land close. The growth of the tribe was determined by how much land was available. If there was little land, they did not want to be crammed into a small spot with many people. The tribe wanted to grow and expand; the right to land would have made this possible. As well as land the right to protection would have made the tribe grow.
Protection against enemies is very important for any person to survive. Prehistoric people needed this protection as well. The Maori invaded the Moriori because there was no right to protection. They could invade anyone they pleased because of the freedom. There was no one to take charge against the invasions. Today we have protection from our United Nations and it proves that it works. The people need to have someone or some law to help them in times of need. Without the law there would be chaos, as there was during prehistory. The prehistoric people would have been well off with the protection. The protection of the tribes would help preserve the customs.
Customs are very important to a tribe. Customs are what shape and define a tribe or group. The right to a tribe having the customs would allow each and every tribe to live for a very long time. A tribe without customs is like a country without an anthem. Everyone in the country sings the anthem and believes in the spirit of the anthem. The customs are not only important to the people but for the tribe as a whole to survive. If there was a law that says the tribes could not carry out customs, the tribe would not be defined and everyone would be the same. The customs are very important and have a large impact on everyone.
Prehistoric People needed the rights of land, protection and customs. The laws proved to save many people and tribes. The United Nations may have developed other laws for people later in time. The UN would eventually develop into today’s organization. People now have the rights to freedom, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. The organization of law is much more developed. The life of people is more important than the ability to conquer. If the UN had thought of that in the past, maybe today there would still be Moriori alive.
